What you can and can't rely on from this website — menu prices, allergen marks, photographs, reviews, and the third-party services we use for booking and delivery. The section on allergies is the one worth reading properly; everything else is housekeeping.
This website is published by Karma Indian Bistro, 2741 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia, operating as [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME]. Its purpose is to tell you about the restaurant — the food we cook, where we are, and how to book.
We keep it accurate and current to the best of our ability. Restaurants change: suppliers change, dishes come off, prices move. If something on this site matters to your decision — a specific dish, a price, a capacity, a time — call us on 604-559-1666 and we'll confirm it for you.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude taxes and gratuity. An 18% gratuity is added automatically to parties of 5 or more; where that applies it is stated on the menu and we'll mention it when you book.
Menu items and prices are subject to change without notice. Dishes may be unavailable because of supply, season or how busy a service has been. Where our printed menu, this website and a delivery platform disagree, the price charged in the restaurant at the time of service is the one that applies.
Descriptions are a guide to the dish, not a complete list of ingredients. Recipes are adjusted from time to time.
The gluten-free (GF), dairy-free (DF), vegetarian (V) and vegan (VG) marks on our menu describe the recipe as written. They are not a guarantee about the plate that reaches your table.
Our kitchen is not allergen-free. We prepare dishes containing nuts, dairy, gluten, mustard, sesame, eggs, fish and shellfish in a shared kitchen, using shared equipment and shared preparation surfaces. Cross-contact is possible with any dish. We cannot guarantee that any item is entirely free of any allergen.
Tell your server about an allergy before you order — every time, including when you order online. When we know, we can tell you honestly what the kitchen is able to do and what it isn't. When we don't know, we can't.
Lamb is the only halal meat served at Karma.
Cashew is used across the menu, and it is fundamental to several dishes rather than a garnish — the kormas, Navratan Korma, Malai Kofta and Chicken Malai Tikka among them. Kashmiri Naan contains minced nuts.
The dishes marked vegan are cooked without dairy, paneer or cream. They are prepared in the same kitchen as everything else. The tandoor and fryer are shared, but separate frying can be done on request. Dairy-free is not the same as vegan, and vegetarian is not the same as vegan. Where you need certainty, ask us.
Items marked gluten-free are made without gluten-containing ingredients. They are cooked in a kitchen where flour is used daily and breads are baked to order. If you have coeliac disease, please speak to us before ordering so we can talk it through properly.
If you have a severe allergy, we would always rather you asked and been told no than assumed and been unlucky.
We do not publish nutritional or calorie information. Dishes are cooked to order, so portions and preparation can vary.
Food and interior photography on this site is illustrative. Dishes are cooked to order and plated by hand, so what arrives will differ from a photograph taken on another day. Portion sizes shown are not a commitment.
Reservations are managed through Tock. Making a booking request through this website or through Tock does not by itself guarantee a table until you receive a confirmation.
Seating preferences — a patio table, a particular part of the room — are requests and not guarantees. We do our best.

The food as it leaves our kitchen. Drivers, delivery times, delivery fees, service charges and menu pricing on their platform are set and controlled by DoorDash, not by us.
Prices on delivery platforms may differ from prices in the restaurant. Once an order leaves our kitchen with a third-party driver, its handling, timing and condition on arrival are outside our control. If something arrives wrong, tell us as well as the platform — we'd rather know.
This site links to other websites — the MICHELIN Guide, review platforms, transit and mapping services, our social accounts. Those sites are not under our control. We link to them because they're useful, not because we endorse or take responsibility for everything on them, and we're not liable for their content, accuracy or availability.
Guest reviews quoted on this site are the personal opinions of the people who wrote them, reproduced from public review platforms. They're their words, not ours, and they describe one visit at one time. They aren't a promise of what your experience will be.

Karma Indian Bistro has held a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide Vancouver since 2023. The Bib Gourmand is awarded at the sole discretion of the MICHELIN Guide's inspectors and reflects their assessment, not ours. Awards are reviewed each year and can be withdrawn.

Karma is licensed to serve alcohol in British Columbia, where the legal drinking age is 19. We ask for government-issued photo identification and we will refuse service without it.
We may also refuse or discontinue alcohol service at our discretion, as licensed premises in BC are required to do. This isn't personal — it's the licence.
Karma gift cards do not expire. Physical gift cards are available in the restaurant, and e-gift cards can be purchased online.
